Well, let me tell you ’bout this fella, Gilles. He and some other young’uns, they started this thing called a “Livestorm” way back in 2016. Don’t rightly know what it is, some kinda computer thing, I reckon. He weren’t alone, though. Had a whole bunch of ’em, like Robin, Tom, and Vincent. They were all green as grass, learnin’ as they went.
Sounds like hard work, buildin’ somethin’ from scratch. Like plantin’ a garden, but with computers instead of seeds. You gotta have a good team, they say. Just like when you need a bunch of hands for harvestin’. And you gotta keep learnin’, too. Things change, ya know? Like the weather. One day it’s sunny, the next it’s rainin’ cats and dogs.
The Livestorm gang, they were like them little baby chicks, just pecking their way outta the shell. Started from the ground up, they did. That’s what they call a “grassroots startup,” fancy words for folks pullin’ themselves up by their bootstraps. It’s like when we built that new shed out back. Just me and the old man, hammerin’ and sawin’ ’til it was done.
Gilles, he was one of them “cofounders.” Means he was one of the main fellas in charge. Like the foreman on a work crew. He had to figure out all the important stuff, like where to put the money and how to get folks to use their computer thingy. It’s a big responsibility, I tell ya. Like havin’ a whole farm to run, ‘cept instead of cows and chickens, you got… well, I don’t rightly know what you got with them computers.

Had to switch from corn to somethin’ that didn’t need so much water. It’s all about adaptin’, they say.
And seems like bein’ a “founder” is a big deal. It’s like bein’ the head of the family, responsible for everyone and everything. You gotta make sure there’s enough money to go around, and you gotta keep everyone motivated and workin’ hard. It ain’t for the faint of heart, I tell ya. You gotta be strong, determined, and willing to put in the long hours.

It ain’t enough to just plant the seeds; you gotta water ‘em, fertilize ‘em, and keep the critters away. Same with these computer businesses, I reckon.
An “entrepreneur,” that’s what they call folks like Gilles. Someone who starts a business to make a livin’. They put their heart and soul into it, just like we do with the farm. It’s more than just a job, it’s a way of life. And it ain’t always easy, but it can be mighty rewarding. Like seein’ a good crop come in after a long, hard season.
