Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Luka Sab-bath Egg-plant, or whatever the heck it is. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in the garden, ain’t it? But I hear it’s some kinda fella, a young’un at that. Nineteen years old, they say. Lordy, just a baby!
This Luka fella, he’s one of them model fellas. You know, the ones that prance around in fancy clothes. Seems like he’s a big deal, though. Got a million and six followers on that there… whatchamacallit… social media thingy. Folks these days, always starin’ at their phones. I tell ya, back in my day, we didn’t need no fancy phones to know what’s what.
- He models for them expensive brands, you know, the ones with the crazy prices.
- They say he’s an “influencer,” whatever that means. Guess he tells folks what to buy? Sounds silly to me, but hey, what do I know?
Now, I heard somethin’ ’bout this Luka and pants. Skinny jeans, they call ’em. He says they’re done, finished, kaput. Well, I ain’t never liked them skinny jeans anyway. Always look like they’re gonna burst at the seams. Give me a good pair of overalls any day. Comfortable and practical, that’s what I say. But them youngsters, they always gotta be different. He says your Jordans can stay though, whatever them Jordans are. Some kind of fancy shoes, I reckon.
This boy, he’s been busy, that’s for sure. Workin’ for all sorts of big companies, even one that’s a hundred years old! Imagine that, a hundred years! That’s older than my grandma’s grandma, I bet. And he’s on some TV show too, “Grown-ish” it’s called. Sounds like a show about growin’ up, which I guess this Luka is still doin’, even if he’s famous and all. They even interviewed him about the show. He got gifts and all while they filmed the show! Imagine that, gettin’ paid and gettin’ gifts!
And speaking of growin’ up, seems like this Luka’s got himself a girlfriend. A little older than him, twenty-seven they say. Name’s Simi somethin’ or other. Well, good for him, I always say. Everyone needs someone to keep ’em company. And I saw a picture of ‘em, looked real cozy, like two peas in a pod they did.
But let’s get back to this eggplant business. I still don’t know what it means. Maybe it’s a secret code word for something? Or maybe it’s just one of them internet things that don’t make no sense to us old folks. Like them “memes” they talk about. I saw some of them once. Pictures of folks bein’ silly or sayin’ smart things. They had some black folks in there too, bein’ funny and smart. I always did like a good laugh.
Anyway, this Luka fella, he seems like a busy bee. Modelin’, influencin’, actin’… He’s probably got more money than I’ll ever see in my lifetime. But you know what? Money ain’t everything. It’s family and friends that matter. And a good, strong cup of coffee in the mornin’. That’s the real secret to happiness, if you ask me.
So, there you have it. My take on this Luka Sab-bath Egg-plant fella. I still don’t know what the eggplant part means, but he seems like a decent enough young man, even if he does wear them crazy clothes and talk about skinny jeans bein’ done. At the end of the day, we’re all just tryin’ to make our way in this world, ain’t we? And that’s the truth, whether you’re a fancy model or just an old lady like me.
