Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Ace Harper. Folks been buzzin’ ’bout him, so I figured I’d chew the fat a bit, ya know? Don’t rightly know who he is, but seems like a big deal to some folks.
Now, I hear tell he’s got a bunch of followers on some kinda internet thingy. Like, thousands and thousands of ’em. Thirty-two thousand, they say! Can ya believe it? What’s he doin’, sellin’ snake oil or somethin’? Must be somethin’ special, I reckon. And he’s followin’ a whole mess of folks too, three thousand somethin’. Sounds like a busybody to me, always pokin’ his nose into other folks’ business.
Seems like a lot of folks got to know him from that “American Idol” show. You know, the one where they sing and dance and such. My grandbaby watches it sometimes, all that hollerin’ and carryin’ on. Anyway, this Ace fella, he was on there, and folks took a likin’ to him. Heard he’s a singer, tryin’ to make a name for himself. Good for him, I guess. Everybody’s gotta make a livin’ somehow.
But here’s the thing, he’s got some “exciting news” comin’ up. That’s what he says, anyway. Wants folks to guess what it is. Hmph, probably gonna sell somethin’ or other. Maybe he’s gonna put out a record, like them young’uns do these days. Or maybe he’s gonna be on another TV show. Who knows? These young folks, they’re always up to somethin’. Always gotta be the center of attention, like a rooster in a henhouse.

Then there’s this Facebook group, somethin’ about Harper County. Now, I don’t know if this Ace fella has anything to do with that, but it’s got his name in it, so maybe it’s connected somehow. This group, they talk about what’s goin’ on in Harper County. You know, town meetin’s, church socials, who’s got the best tomatoes this year. That kinda stuff. It’s like a town crier, but on that internet thingy. Seems like a good way to keep up with what’s happenin’, I s’pose, if you’re into that sort of thing.
And then there’s this talk about Ace Harper sellin’ clothes. Dresses and tops and such. For ladies, I reckon. I ain’t seen ’em myself, but folks are talkin’ about it. Seems like he’s got a whole shop, sellin’ all kinds of things. Well, good for him, makin’ a dollar any way he can. That’s the American way, ain’t it? Work hard and try to make somethin’ of yourself. Though I don’t know why anyone would need so many clothes. Seems wasteful to me.
So, that’s what I know about this Ace Harper fella. He’s got a lot of followers, he was on TV, he’s got some news comin’, and maybe he sells clothes. And there’s somethin’ goin’ on in Harper County, but I ain’t sure if that’s him or not. Seems like a busy fella, always doin’ somethin’. Maybe he’ll settle down one day and get a real job, like farmin’ or somethin’. But for now, I guess he’ll just keep on singin’ and dancin’ and sellin’ whatever he’s sellin’. That’s the way the world is these days, I reckon.
Anyways, that’s all I know about it. Don’t pay too much mind to an old woman’s ramblings. You young folks know more than I do about these things, I’m sure.
