Alright, so you wanna know about this… this… Loo-wee Vuitton Air Force One Green shoe, huh? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I heard. It ain’t gonna be fancy talk, ya hear? Just plain and simple, like how we talk around here.
First off, some fella, Virgil somethin’-or-other, he cooked this up with Nike. That’s right, the swoosh folks. They made these shoes, see? Started sellin’ ’em last year, I think. January, maybe? They went and sold some fancy ones at some place called “Sotheby’s.” Sounded highfalutin to me.
Now, the ones everyone’s yappin’ about are these green ones. Green and white, mind you. They call ’em “Low,” so they ain’t no high-tops, I guess. Cost a pretty penny, too. Someone told me they were, what, two thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars? Lord have mercy! That’s a whole lotta hay bales!
- They call it “luxury,” whatever that means.
- And “streetwear,” which sounds like somethin’ them city kids wear.
They say they gonna make a bunch of different colors and styles. Twenty-one, I heard. But they only showed off a few so far. Folks are waitin’ and waitin’ for the rest. Like waitin’ for rain in July, I tell ya.
Some rich folks got to order ’em early. In June, I think. Then, in July, they let everyone else buy ’em online. Nine different ones they had. And that price? Between two thousand seven hundred fifty and three thousand four hundred fifty dollars! Can you believe it? You could buy a whole cow for that much!
They say these Air Force Ones, they been around a long time. Since, what… nineteen eighty-somethin’? Folks in some place called Harlem, in New York City, they loved ’em. Called ’em “Uptowns,” like they was somethin’ special. Then they stopped makin’ ’em for a bit, but then they started up again. With that swoosh thing on the back. You know, the Nike swoosh.
Now, there’s another green one, the “Pine Green” they call it. But that one’s different, see? It’s got a different name in front of it… “Off-White.” And it’s cheaper, just a hundred and sixty-five… somethin’ or other. Pounds, maybe? They’re sellin’ those in April. Different shoe, I reckon. But still green, so maybe that’s why folks get confused.
So, this Loo-wee Vuitton shoe, the green one… it’s expensive, that’s for sure. And folks seem to want it real bad. They’re all about mixin’ that fancy stuff with those everyday shoes. Me? I’d rather have a good pair of work boots. But hey, to each their own, I always say.
It’s just a shoe, at the end of the day. Don’t put too much stock in it. There’s more important things in life, like family, good food, and a roof over your head. But if you got the money to spend, and you like those fancy green shoes, then go ahead. Just don’t come complainin’ to me if your feet hurt!
