Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to try out a new nail polish color for a while now, and I finally decided to go with light blue. It’s such a pretty, calming color, and I thought it would be perfect for the spring and summer months. Plus, I saw a few people rocking it online, and I was like, “I gotta try that!”
First things first, I needed to gather my supplies. I already had a base coat and top coat that I really liked, so those were a no-brainer. Then, the star of the show: the light blue nail varnish! I picked one up from a local drugstore. It was a really pretty shade, not too bright but still noticeable. Looked perfect in the bottle, you know?
Next, I prepared my nails. This is always the most tedious part for me, but it’s super important if you want your manicure to last. I pushed back my cuticles, filed my nails into a nice shape, and buffed them a little to make sure the surface was smooth. Kind of boring, but has to be done.
Now, for the fun part! I applied a thin layer of base coat to each nail and waited for it to dry completely. This helps the polish adhere better and prevents staining, which is great.
Then, I carefully painted each nail with the light blue polish. I applied two coats to get the perfect opacity. Had to be extra careful with my non-dominant hand, haha. I’m always so scared of messing up. I waited for each coat to dry before applying the next, which took some patience, but I think it’s worth it in the end.

Once the color was completely dry, I finished off with a layer of top coat. This adds shine and helps protect the polish from chipping. You gotta seal it in, you know? Plus, I just love that glossy finish.
And that’s it! My nails were looking fresh and pretty with their new light blue hue. I was really happy with how they turned out. It’s such a simple thing, but a fresh manicure always makes me feel a little more put together. Now, I’m ready to conquer the world, one light blue nail at a time! Or, well, at least finish my coffee.
Oh, and a little tip: Make sure you clean up any mistakes along the way. I always keep a small brush dipped in nail polish remover handy to tidy up the edges. It makes such a difference!
