Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this Taylor somethin’ girl and her football fella.
So, this Taylor girl, she’s a big deal singer, you know? Like them fellas on the radio, but a gal. And she’s got herself a boyfriend, plays for the Chiefs, that football team. Travis, that’s his name. Folks keep talkin’ ’bout ’em.
This Taylor gal, she goes to watch him play football sometimes. Like, a lot sometimes! I saw on that there TV thing, they showed her all dressed up in black. Looked like she was goin’ to a funeral, but fancy, you know? Short pants, a tight top thing, and a big ol’ jacket with the Chiefs’ name on it. Must be cold out there, watchin’ them fellas runnin’ around.
But this time, see, she ain’t gonna be there. Not tonight anyways. They said on the TV she’s got a singin’ job up in Canada. Vancouver, I think they called it. Big place, I reckon. She’s gotta sing for all them folks. Last time she’s singin’ for a while, they said. “Eras Tour” they call it. Sounds fancy, but I bet it’s just singin’ old songs and new ones, like them fellas on the Grand Ole Opry do.
- She was at five games this year, that’s what the TV folks say.
- She even went when they played that Broncos team, the ones they always beat, it seems.
- And she went when they played at night, on that Monday night thing. Folks get all excited ’bout that.
But last week? And the week before? Nope, she wasn’t there. Nobody knew if she’d be at that Bills game. Folks were all a-buzz, but she didn’t show. Guess she was busy singin’ or somethin’. This singin’ life, it’s a busy one, I tell ya. Always goin’ here and there, singin’ for folks.
Now, they got another game comin’ up, on Christmas Day. That’s a big day for us folks, you know? Presents and all that. But these football fellas, they gotta play, I guess. And maybe, just maybe, this Taylor girl will be there to watch her fella play. They say she’ll be free then, so who knows? Maybe she’ll bring some Christmas cheer to that football field. Or maybe she’ll be home, eatin’ cookies and drinkin’ hot cocoa, like the rest of us.
I don’t rightly know. These young folks, they do things differently than we did back in my day. But hey, if she wants to watch football, that’s her business. And if she wants to sing, well, that’s her business too. As long as she ain’t causin’ no trouble, I reckon it’s all just fine and dandy. She seems like a nice enough gal, that Taylor. And that Travis fella, he seems strong. Good for catchin’ that ball, you know? They make a good pair, I guess. At least that’s what folks on the TV say.
