So, I seen these shiny bird thingies… these brooch peacocks… at the store the other day. My, oh my, they were somethin’ else! All sparkly and glittery. Reminded me of them fancy birds rich folks keep, the ones that strut around like they own the place.
Now, I ain’t no fashion expert, mind you. I wear what’s comfy, what keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. But even I can see these brooch peacocks are purdy. They got all sorts of colors, blues and greens mostly, like a rainbow got stuck in a bird’s tail. And they shimmer, ya know? Like they got tiny lights inside ’em.

Peacock brooches ain’t just for fancy folks, though. I seen some young girls wearin’ ’em too. They stick ’em on their backpacks, or their jeans. Makes ’em look… cheerful, I guess. Like they got a little bit of sunshine pinned to ’em.
And you know what? You can even get peacock brooches that ain’t even shaped like peacocks! They just got the colors, the blues and greens and golds, swirled together in a pretty pattern. They call it “abstract” or somethin’. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a bunch of colors to me.
