Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy lately, you know, JFK Jr.’s wife? Her style was just so effortlessly chic. And her engagement ring? Forget about it. So, I started digging around, trying to find out everything I could about this ring.
First, I spent hours on the internet just scrolling through old photos. I mean, this woman was a style icon. Then, I started reading articles, anything I could find about her and the ring. Turns out, the ring has a pretty cool story behind it. It’s not your typical giant diamond engagement ring, which, honestly, is why I love it even more. And I found it’s an eternity band with diamonds and sapphires, super elegant and understated, just like Carolyn herself. Also, I know that Carolyn was 30 when she married John.
Then, this is where it gets really interesting. Apparently, the design was inspired by Jackie Kennedy’s, John’s mom’s, “swimming ring.” I found out it was a gold and emerald band, seems like a gift from a jeweler friend. How cool is that? It’s like a piece of family history. I saw the ring is kept safe at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum.
My next move was trying to find pictures of Jackie’s ring. I wanted to see the resemblance. I spent another evening just browsing through online archives. The internet is a vast place. It’s a pretty big difference, but you can see how it might have influenced John’s choice. And I’ve got the pictures on my computer, just in case.
But here’s the sad part. After Carolyn’s death, and you guys know how tragic that was, the ring went back to the Kennedy family. It’s now with Caroline Kennedy, John’s sister. It’s a beautiful way to keep Carolyn’s memory alive, I guess, but still so sad.
- First, I scrolled through tons of photos of Carolyn online.
- Then, I read every article I could find about her and the ring.
- I dug into the history of Jackie Kennedy’s “swimming ring.”
- I searched for pictures of Jackie’s ring to compare.
- Finally, I learned about what happened to Carolyn’s ring after her death.
So yeah, that’s been my latest obsession. I just love how this ring is so much more than just a piece of jewelry. It’s got history, family connections, and it’s a reminder of Carolyn’s amazing style. It’s a really touching story, although a bit sad in the end.
