Okay, so, I’ve been seeing these Adidas Sambas everywhere lately, right? They were super popular back in the early 2000s, and then they kind of disappeared for a while. But boom, they started popping up all over TikTok in 2021, and by 2022, they were all the rage in European fashion. Now, they’re practically sold out everywhere you look.
So, I got curious. I mean, the Samba is a classic shoe. It was originally designed for soccer, to give players better grip on those hard, flat indoor courts. And it’s still a top pick for indoor soccer. But now, you see different versions of the Samba everywhere, from cycling to golf.
What really caught my eye was this new “Cheetah Pack” of Sambas that Adidas was dropping. I heard it was influenced by Wales Bonner, whose leopard print Sambas were a huge hit in 2023. As a big fan of Wales Bonner, I marked my calendar for the release date, January 29th.
On the day of release, I woke up early and rushed to buy it online. After placing the order, I excitedly waited for it to arrive. When the package arrived, I immediately opened it. When I saw the shoes, they were beautiful, but they were also a bit too bright and deep for my usual style.
Despite that, I had to try them on. I started rocking them around town. And you know what? They’re incredibly comfortable. Plus, they add a unique pop to my outfits. I did some research, and it turns out that despite some people saying they’re getting tired of Sambas, they’re still a best-seller. The sell-out rate in the first quarter of 2024 was way higher than in 2013. So, I guess they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.
I heard that in 2025, skater shoes and Gorpcore styles are going to be big. But I have a feeling these Sambas, especially the cheetah ones, will still be turning heads.
So, here’s my takeaway. If you’re looking for a comfortable, stylish shoe that’s got history and a bit of a wild side, these cheetah Adidas Sambas are worth checking out. Even if they’re a bit out of your comfort zone, you might be surprised at how much you like them. I went and I was surprised.
