Alright, alright, let’s gab about them fancy-schmancy celebrity sheer tops, you know, the see-through ones. Them movie stars and singers, they wear all sorts of crazy stuff, and these sheer tops, well, they’re somethin’ else.
I seen some pictures, magazines at the checkout, you know? And these gals, they ain’t wearin’ much underneath! It’s like, “Honey, you forgot your shirt!” But I guess that’s the style now. They call it “peek-a-boo” this and “allure” that. Sounds fancy, but to me, it just looks like they’re about to catch a cold.
I remember back in my day, we wore clothes to cover up, not to show off everything. But times change, I reckon. Now, it’s all about “showin’ a little skin”, or a lotta skin, dependin’ on the day, I guess.
- First, you got the ones with just a little bit see-through. Maybe a little bit on the arms or a patch on the back. That’s kinda like dippin’ your toes in the water, you know? Not too crazy.
- Then you got the ones that are see-through all over. Lord have mercy! It’s like, “Girl, what are you thinkin’?” But they wear ’em with fancy bras or little pasties, I think they call ’em. It’s supposed to be fashionable, but I don’t get it.
And it ain’t just shirts neither. They got these sheer dresses, sheer skirts… It’s like they wanna walk around in their underwear but still say they’re dressed. Crazy, I tell ya, just plain crazy.
I saw one picture, this gal, she had on a dress that was, I swear, it was like nothin’ but air! And she was smilin’ and posin’ like it was the most normal thing in the world. I just shook my head. “Celebrity style” they call it. More like “celebrity nothin’,” if you ask me.
Now, don’t get me wrong, some of ’em look alright, I guess. If they got somethin’ pretty underneath, and they ain’t showin’ too much. But most of the time, it’s just too much. Too much skin, too much see-through, too much everything. It’s like they’re shoutin’, “Look at me! Look at me!”, but honey, I’m lookin’ the other way.
And the thing is, these celebrities, they wear these things to fancy parties, red carpets, all them big events. And folks take their pictures and put ’em in magazines and on the internet. And then, regular folks, they start thinkin’ they gotta wear sheer stuff too. It’s a whole big to-do.
I seen some young gals around town tryin’ to copy them celebrity sheer tops, and it just don’t look right. It’s like they’re tryin’ too hard, you know? You gotta be confident to wear somethin’ like that, and even then, it’s a risky move. Some folks can pull it off, but most just look… well, they just look silly.
I guess if you got the body for it, and the money for it, and the nerve for it, you can wear whatever you want. But me? I’ll stick to my good ol’ cotton shirts and my sturdy overalls. At least I know I’m covered up and comfortable. And I ain’t gonna catch no cold from wearin’ somethin’ that looks like a spiderweb.
These sheer tops, they’re a trend, that’s all. They come and they go. One day they’re hot stuff, and the next day everybody’s wearin’ somethin’ else. That’s how it always is with fashion. So I ain’t gonna worry about it too much. I’ll just sit here in my comfy chair and watch the world go by, and chuckle at all them crazy clothes the celebrities are wearin’.
But if you’re thinkin’ about wearin’ one of them sheer tops yourself, you better think twice. Make sure you got somethin’ nice to wear underneath, and make sure you got the confidence to pull it off. And if you don’t, well, don’t say I didn’t warn ya!
And one last thing, don’t go spendin’ all your hard-earned money on somethin’ that ain’t gonna keep you warm. There’s more important things in life than showin’ off your belly button, that’s for sure.
