Alright, alright, settle down, let me tell ya about somethin’ I saw on that there picture box the other day. These young’uns, these celebrities in sheer, they’re wearin’ clothes you can practically see right through! I tell ya, back in my day, we wouldn’t be caught dead in somethin’ like that. But these young whippersnappers, they’re all about showin’ off, I guess.
Now, I ain’t no fashion expert, mind you. I wear what’s comfortable, what keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. But these see-through dresses, or whatever they call ’em, they ain’t practical, that’s for sure. You can see everything! Lord have mercy!
- First off, there’s the fabric. It’s like… like a mosquito net, but fancier, ya know? Real thin and flimsy. I bet it doesn’t hold up too well in the wash.
- And then there’s the, uh, the “design.” Well, I reckon there ain’t much design to it when you can see right through it! Sometimes they got little sparkly things glued on, or some lace here and there, but mostly it’s just… skin. Lots of skin.
I saw this one gal, real pretty thing, on the red carpet. She had on this long dress, all flowy and whatnot. But I could see right through it! I could see her… her undergarments! Well, not much of ‘em, to be honest, they were tiny little things. Back in my day, we wore slips! Full slips! And petticoats! Nobody wanted to see your unmentionables.
My old man, he’d have a fit if he saw somethin’ like that. He’d say, “Woman, go put some clothes on!” And he’d be right! There’s a time and a place for everything, and paradin’ around half-naked in front of the whole world ain’t it.
But I guess that’s just how it is these days. These young’uns, they wanna be seen. They wanna be noticed. And I guess wearin’ clothes you can see through is one way to do it. I just hope they don’t catch a cold!
Celebrities wearing sheer clothing, it’s not just the dresses neither. I seen them fellas wearin’ see-through shirts too! And pants! My goodness! It makes me blush just thinkin’ about it. I ain’t no prude, but some things are best left to the imagination, if you know what I mean.
Now, don’t get me wrong, some of these outfits, they’re kinda pretty, in a way. The sparkly ones, especially. And the ones with the fancy embroidery. But still, I can’t help but think, “Don’t they feel cold? Aren’t they embarrassed?” Maybe they ain’t, maybe it’s just me bein’ an old fuddy-duddy.
The thing that gets me is, these clothes, they ain’t cheap! I heard tell that some of them dresses cost more than my house! Can you believe it? Spendin’ all that money on somethin’ that barely covers you up. Seems like a waste to me.
And then there’s the photographers. They’re flashin’ their cameras left and right, tryin’ to get a good look. And the magazines, they put these pictures everywhere. It’s like they’re tryin’ to make it normal, this see-through clothes business. Well, I ain’t buyin’ it, not one bit.
So, that’s what I think about these celebrities in sheer. They can wear what they want, I guess. It’s a free country, ain’t it? But me? I’ll stick to my good, sturdy clothes that keep me covered up and warm. And if you ask me, that’s the way it oughta be.
You know, I saw this other young’un on the TV the other night, and she had this sheer top on. But she had somethin’ underneath it, a little somethin’ that covered her up a bit more. It was still see-through, mind you, but at least it wasn’t like… like everything was just hangin’ out there. Maybe that’s a compromise, I guess. A little bit of see-through, but not too much. Still not my cup of tea, but hey, what do I know? I’m just an old woman, sittin’ here watchin’ the world go by.
But one thing’s for sure, these sheer styles sure do get people talkin’! And I guess that’s the whole point, ain’t it? To get people to look at you, to pay attention. Well, they sure got my attention, that’s for certain.
