Today, I’m going to try to recreate Princess Diana’s engagement ring. It’s pretty iconic, so I figured, why not give it a shot? Let’s see if I can pull it off.
First things first, I gathered all the materials I’d need. I went to a local craft store and picked up a few things: a plain silver ring band, a large blue faux sapphire, and some smaller clear crystals to surround it. I’m not exactly working with real diamonds and sapphires here, but hey, we’re going for the look, right?
Finding the Right Stone
Now, the trickiest part was finding a blue stone that looked at least somewhat like the one on Diana’s ring. The one I found isn’t perfect, but it’s a nice deep blue and it’s got a decent sparkle to it. I had to dig through a whole bin of plastic gems to find it, but I think it was worth the effort.
Putting It All Together
Once I had everything, I got to work. I carefully glued the blue stone onto the center of the ring band. It was a bit tricky to get it perfectly centered, but I took my time and made sure it was secure. I also added a drop of glue to the band to make sure it is secured and will stay in the middle of the ring.

- Used a strong adhesive to ensure everything stayed in place.
Then, I started adding the smaller clear crystals around the blue one. This was a bit tedious, but I wanted to mimic the halo effect of the original ring. I used a pair of tweezers to place each crystal, and I made sure they were evenly spaced.
The Final Touches
After all the stones were in place, I let the ring dry for a few hours. I wanted to make sure the glue was completely set before I tried it on. Once it was dry, I took a close look at it. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!
So, there you have it! My DIY version of Princess Diana’s engagement ring. It’s not an exact replica, but I think it captures the essence of the original. It was a fun little project, and now I have a sparkly new ring to show off. Maybe I’ll wear it to my next royal engagement, haha!
