Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another deep dive into my latest project. Today, I’m talking about something a little different – crafting a display case for my Louis Vuitton medals. Yeah, I know, it sounds fancy, but trust me, the process was more about getting my hands dirty than anything else.

It all started when I got my hands on these, like, super rare LV medals. I knew right away they deserved a special spot. I wanted to show them off, not just stash them in a drawer. So, I thought, why not make a display case myself? Seemed like a fun challenge.
First things first, I needed to figure out how to tell if these medals were the real deal, you know? I did some digging online. I learned that real Louis Vuitton stuff is all about quality. The materials, the stitching, it all has to be top-notch. I spent a good chunk of time just feeling the medals, checking the details. Real LV leather feels amazing, by the way – supple but sturdy. And the monogram? That’s the telltale sign. On the real ones, it’s super precise and consistent.
I even went to a Louis Vuitton store, just to, you know, compare. I looked at a bunch of different items. I pretended I was super interested in buying, asking the salesperson all sorts of questions. It helped a lot. I could see the difference between the real stuff and the fakes I’d seen online. The stitching on a real LV is, like, perfect. No loose ends, all evenly spaced. It’s pretty obvious when you see it up close.
Once I was sure my medals were legit, I started planning the case. I sketched out some ideas, nothing too fancy. I’m no artist, haha. Just wanted something simple and classy to match the medals. I decided to go with a simple wooden frame. Measured the medals, figured out the dimensions of the case. Then I hit up the hardware store for some wood, some glass, and some basic tools.
Building the case itself was a whole other story. Let me tell you, woodworking is not as easy as it looks. There was a lot of trial and error. I messed up a few cuts, had to redo some parts. But I kept at it. Sanding, gluing, staining – it was all a learning process. I even learned how to cut glass, which was pretty nerve-wracking, not gonna lie.

After a few weekends of work, the case finally started to take shape. I added a nice, soft lining inside to protect the medals. Made sure the glass was fitted perfectly, so you could see the medals clearly. It wasn’t perfect, mind you. There were a few imperfections here and there, but that’s part of the charm, right? It’s handmade, it’s got character.
Finally, the moment of truth. I carefully placed the medals inside the case. And bam! It looked amazing. The way the light hit the medals, the way they stood out against the dark wood – it was exactly what I had envisioned. I was pretty damn proud of myself, not gonna lie.
So, there you have it. My journey from figuring out if my Louis Vuitton medals were real to building a custom display case for them. It was a fun ride, full of challenges and learning experiences. And the best part? Now I have a unique piece to show off, something that tells a story. Hope you enjoyed this little adventure of mine. Stay tuned for more!
