That Michelle Obama, she sure knows how to dress! I tell ya, I seen her on the TV, and that woman, she always looks good. She got more dresses than a whole town put together, I reckon. Fancy ones, too. Not like the stuff I wear, just old things, you know. But hers, they shine and sparkle, like a Christmas tree all year round.
She was on that Jennifer Hudson show, you know? I seen her there. And boy, did she dance in. Oh, she got the moves for sure. And always wearing a pretty dress, even when she is dancing and moving around. She really knows how to dress to impress, I am telling you.
She wears all them colors, bright ones. Red, blue, yellow, like a whole rainbow. Makes you feel happy just lookin’ at her. And them patterns! Stripes, spots, flowers, all mixed up. She ain’t afraid to wear anythin’, that Michelle. She used to wear some more plain stuff, you know, a little boring. But now, woo boy, she is all colorful and exciting, it is almost too much.
- She wears dresses from them fancy designers.
- Names I can’t even say right.
- Naeem what? Carolina who?
- But they sure make pretty things.
I heard she was the first black woman to be first lady. That is really something. And she helped people, too. I saw how she talked about eating healthy and exercising. That is good stuff. She wrote some books, too. I ain’t read them, but I heard they are good. One is called “Becoming.” Sounds fancy. Another one is called “The Light We Carry,” whatever that means.
One time, she wore this long dress, all flowy. Had a strap over one shoulder, like them Greek ladies in the pictures. It had all kinds of shapes on it. The designer lady was named Michelle, too. Said the dress was just right for Michelle Obama because it was like how she dressed every day. I don’t know about that, but it sure looked good on her.
Sometimes she wears stuff you can get at the regular store, too. Not just them expensive things. Shows she’s just like us, kinda. Well, except for all them fancy dresses and bein’ on TV. But still, it’s nice to see.
She’s got a whole closet full of shoes, too, I bet. High heels, mostly. I can’t wear them no more, my feet hurt too much. But she walks around in them like it ain’t nothin’. She’s a strong woman, that Michelle Obama.
I remember one time she wore this shiny dress, all gold, looked like it was made of real gold. Sparkled so bright, you almost needed sunglasses to look at her. That was a real dress to impress, I tell ya. She was standin’ next to her husband, the president, and she shined brighter than him, that’s for sure.
- She wears them high heels.
- And she wears them fancy dresses.
- All them colors and patterns.
- She sure knows how to dress to impress.
Another time, she wore this blue dress, dark blue, like the night sky. Had little sparkly things all over it, looked like stars. She was at some fancy dinner, I think. All them important people were there. But she was the prettiest one, no doubt. She can really pull of a good dress, that woman.
She’s got good taste, that Michelle Obama. Knows what looks good on her. And she ain’t afraid to try new things. That’s what I like about her. She’s a good example, you know? Shows that you can be strong and smart and still like to dress up pretty. She cares about people, too. Talks about eatin’ right and takin’ care of yourself. She is more than just pretty dresses, you know, she has a good heart, too.
I like seeing what she’s gonna wear next. It’s like a surprise every time. Sometimes I think, “Oh, I wish I had a dress like that.” But then I remember, where would I even wear it? To the grocery store? To feed the chickens? Nah, I’ll just stick to my old clothes. But it’s fun to look at her, all dressed up and smilin’. She is a good lady. She knows how to dress to impress, that is for sure, and she does it while helping others. That is what really matters. She’s a good one, that Michelle.

She inspired folks, I think. Makes them feel good about themselves. That’s important. Especially for young girls. They see her, all strong and confident, and they think, “I can be like that, too.” And they can. Anyone can, if they put their mind to it. You can do anything you want to, even if it is something small like picking out a pretty dress. It is the feeling you get when you put it on, feeling good about yourself. Michelle Obama, she knows that feeling, I bet. And I bet she knows how to dress to get that feeling. She is a smart cookie.
