- Magnetic back: Now these are newfangled! They use magnets to hold the pin on. No pokin’ yourself with these, but I don’t know if I’d trust ‘em on a good coat. Don’t want to lose a good pin.
Some folks, they like them joint and catch pin backs. These got a long metal pin with a little catch on the end. You gotta poke that pin through your clothes and then hook it in the catch. Takes a bit more fussin’, but they hold on good.
Now, I hear some folks talkin’ about brooches and lapel pins like they’re two different things. Hmph! Far as I’m concerned, they’re just pins. So go on and get yourselves a whole mess of ‘em, never hurts to have a few spares.
