Okay, so I heard about this wild concept for a restaurant called The Bunyadi. Naked dining? I mean, I had to see what all the fuss was about. So, I booked a table – or a spot, rather, since it’s all very communal and earthy.

Got to the place, and first thing, you check in and get a robe. You strip down in these little changing rooms, which was honestly a bit awkward at first. I mean, you’re standing there with a bunch of strangers, all getting naked. But hey, when in Rome, right?

Then, I stashed my clothes and phone in a locker. That’s a big part of it – no phones allowed. It’s all about being in the moment, disconnected from the digital world. Walked into the dining area, and it was like stepping back in time. Everything was made of natural materials, like bamboo and wood. Candles everywhere, so the lighting was super dim and cozy.

Sat down at these log tables on tree stumps. No fancy chairs here. The food, oh man, the food. They served everything on these handmade clay plates. I opted for the vegan menu, and it was all raw and organic. Honestly, I’m not usually a huge fan of raw food, but it was surprisingly tasty. They really focused on the flavors of the ingredients.

The Whole Experience

  • Felt kinda liberating: I’m not gonna lie, eating naked was weirdly freeing. It’s like you shed all your inhibitions with your clothes.
  • Met some interesting people: Since everyone’s in the same boat, you end up chatting with the people around you more than you might in a normal restaurant.
  • Totally unplugged: No phones buzzing, no one taking selfies. It was just people, food, and conversation.
  • Enjoyed the food more than expected: I had the 5-course menu with grilled meats. It’s raw but they grilled some of the meats which was a nice suprise.

So, would I go back? Maybe. It’s definitely a unique experience, something everyone should try at least once. It’s not just about the naked part, it’s about disconnecting and getting back to basics. But I think next time, I might wear a few more layers to the changing room. Just to ease into it a bit more, you know?

Anyway, if you’re looking for a crazy story to tell your friends, you should check out The Bunyadi. It was a wild ride for me.
