So, I got this thing for the Tommy Hilfiger show during New York Fashion Week. I have always been a fan of this brand. I heard that the show was going to be on a ferry, an actual Staten Island Ferry. That sounded pretty cool and different, so I was pretty stoked.
Getting ready for this was a whole process. I spent days thinking about what to wear. I mean, it’s Tommy Hilfiger! In the end, I went with this classic navy blazer, a crisp white shirt, and some dark jeans. I figured, can’t go wrong with the classics, right?
The day of the show, I headed out to the ferry terminal. The vibe there was buzzing, with people everywhere, all dressed up and looking sharp. I got on the ferry, and it was already packed. I managed to find a spot with a decent view, and I was just soaking it all in.
- There were some big names there. I spotted Jisoo, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Brooke Shields, and even Colin Jost. I heard that he and Pete Davidson actually own this ferry, which is pretty wild.
- The show itself was awesome. They had models walking around the ferry, showing off the new Fall 2023 collection. The clothes were classic Tommy – lots of nautical themes, which makes sense given we were on a boat.
After the show, there was a bit of a party vibe. They had some food and drinks, and I got to mingle a bit. I even chatted with a few people about how Tommy started out selling jeans from the trunk of his car. It’s crazy to think how far he’s come, selling his company for billions and still being the main designer. They told me that his company was sold to Apax Partners for $1.6 billion and later to Phillips-Van Heusen for $3 billion.
I also got to experience their “Styling Suite.” It was a really cool setup, kind of like a sensory experience. They had different areas where you could check out the clothes, get styling tips, and just hang out. It was a nice touch and made the whole event feel even more special.
A Memorable Night
Honestly, the whole night was pretty memorable. It wasn’t just a fashion show, it was a whole experience. From the ferry setting to the celebrity sightings, it was one of those nights that you just don’t forget. Plus, being a Tommy fan, it was cool to see the new collection up close and personal. I have heard that other NYFW’s shows also marked the return of the supermodel, such as Shalom Harlow at Proenza Schouler and Linda Evangelista at Fendi. But this show was still one of the most unforgettable experiences for me.

I left the event feeling pretty inspired. It’s amazing how Tommy Hilfiger has built this huge brand from such humble beginnings. And being there, on that ferry, it just felt like a celebration of all that hard work and creativity. It was a night to remember, for sure.
