Okay, so, I’ve been seeing those Touchland hand sanitizers everywhere, right? They’re super trendy and come in those cute, colorful little dispensers. But, honestly, they’re a bit pricey for me. So, I thought, “Why not try to make my own?” And, guess what? It actually worked out pretty well! I’m going to share the whole process with you all.
First, I needed to get my hands on some supplies. I already had a bunch of those mini spray bottles lying around from old travel-sized toiletries, so that was a start. The main thing I needed was the actual ingredients for the sanitizer. I went to my local drugstore and grabbed a big bottle of isopropyl alcohol – the 99% kind, ’cause that’s what all the guides online said to use. It was surprisingly cheap. Then, I picked up some aloe vera gel, the kind you use for sunburns, to counteract the drying effect of the alcohol. Oh, and I also got a bottle of essential oil – I chose lavender because I love the smell and it’s supposed to be calming, you know?
Next up, it was time to mix everything together. This part was a bit messy, not gonna lie. I poured the alcohol into a measuring cup, then added the aloe vera gel. I read somewhere that the ratio should be about 2:1, alcohol to aloe vera, to make sure it’s effective at killing germs. I stirred it all up with a spoon, and it turned into this weird, goopy mixture. I kept stirring until it became more liquidy.
After that, I added a few drops of the lavender essential oil. Honestly, I just eyeballed it – maybe like 10 drops or so? I didn’t want the scent to be too overpowering. Then, I carefully poured the mixture into my little spray bottles using a funnel. This part was tricky because the mixture was still a bit thick. I spilled a little, but it was no big deal.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I used:
- Mini spray bottles

- Essential oil (I used lavender)

And that’s it! I now have my own homemade Touchland dupe. It smells amazing, and it feels pretty good on my hands – not too drying at all. Plus, I saved a ton of money compared to buying those name-brand ones. I feel pretty accomplished, haha. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to Touchland, I definitely recommend giving this a try. It’s super easy, and you can customize the scent to whatever you like.
