Okay, so I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect midi dress lately. Something that’s good for both the office and happy hour after, you know? I started off by browsing a few different websites, just to see what’s out there.

First, I checked out a store, I think it was called “VICI”. They had a pretty good selection of midi dresses. I saw a couple that were kind of office-chic, but also not too boring. They emphasized something about balancing elegance and comfort, which is definitely what I’m going for.
Then I moved on to another site, “Saks OFF 5TH”. They talked about their collection being a mix of “timeless elegance” and “contemporary flair.” Sounded fancy, but honestly, I didn’t find anything that really jumped out at me. Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for their style that day.
I also stumbled upon some websites that were pushing their winter midi dress collections. It’s still pretty warm where I live, so that wasn’t really what I was looking for. But I guess it’s good to know they have those options for later in the year.
After that, I found a site with a bunch of midi dresses on sale. They were talking about “versatile looks at amazing prices.” I’m always down for a good deal, so I browsed through their selection. I found a few cute ones, but nothing that really screamed “buy me!”
I kept digging and found a site that emphasized designer midi dresses. They had a bunch of different styles from brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Missoni. Pretty, but definitely out of my price range for a casual shopping day.

Gap Factory was next on my list. They’re usually pretty reliable for basics, and they had a decent variety of midi dresses. I saw a few casual ones that I liked, but nothing formal enough for what I was really searching for.
I also checked out a boutique called “Beginning Boutique”, I think. They had a wide range of stuff. I did see some cocktail-style midi dresses that caught my eye. I bookmarked a couple for later, just in case I need something for a special occasion.
Lastly, I landed on Alice + Olivia’s website. They had some really nice-looking A-line and floral midi dresses. The fabrics looked super luxurious, but again, a bit too pricey for what I had in mind.
Here’s what I found during my search today:
- VICI: Good balance of elegance and comfort.
- Saks OFF 5TH: Mix of timeless and contemporary styles.
- Winter Collections: Not relevant for now, but good to know.
- Sale Site: Some cute options, but nothing special.
- Designer Site: Beautiful, but too expensive.
- Gap Factory: Decent variety, some casual options.
- Beginning Boutique: Good for cocktail dresses.
- Alice + Olivia: Luxurious fabrics, A-line, and floral styles.
After all that searching, I still haven’t found “the one” yet. But I did get a better idea of what’s out there and what I like. I think I’m going to hit up a few actual stores this weekend and see if I have better luck in person. Sometimes it’s just easier to tell when you can try things on and see how they look in real life. Wish me luck!
