Okay, so I’ve got something wild to share with you guys today. It’s about this magazine called “High Society.” You know, the kind of magazine your dad probably hid under his mattress when you were a kid? Yeah, that one.

So, the other day I was digging around in my attic, you know, the usual weekend cleaning spree. And bam! I stumbled upon this dusty old box. I opened it up, and guess what I found? A stack of old magazines, and right there on top was a “High Society” from way back in the 90s. I’m talking February 1990, to be exact. It was like finding a time capsule of, uh, “aesthetics.”

I flipped through it, and man, it brought back memories. Not that I was reading these back then, of course, but you know, you’d see them around. These magazines were something else. They were all about showing off those “important things” like the beautiful women with, you know, beautiful bodies, just like what I’ve read from the internet.

And get this, I found a bunch more! March, November from the same year, then a December 1993, and even an April and July from 1994. It was a goldmine of 90s nostalgia! I even found some older ones from 1979, like, can you believe it? This stuff is ancient! Then I got curious about where those magazines came from. And guess what, I found their publisher address, High Society Magazine Inc. 801 2nd Avenue Floor 11; New York, NY 10017, which seems like a normal company, just like the New York Times.

I spent the rest of the afternoon just flipping through these things. It was a trip. It’s not every day you find a piece of history like this. And the best part? They apparently came with these little coupons inside. What were they for? Well, let’s just say it involved videos of those beautiful women. Sneaky, huh? Even the modern version of the magazine still has videos, which makes me think, what an interesting way for marketing.

I gotta say, it was a pretty interesting find. It made me think about how much things have changed since then. But also, how some things, well, they kinda stay the same.

I did some digging online, because, why not? Turns out, these magazines are pretty hard to find these days. Some folks are selling them online, calling them “reader copies.” I even saw a lot of 23 issues from the 70s and 80s!

What’s the Deal with High Society?

  • It’s a Magazine: Yeah, a real, physical magazine. Remember those?
  • It’s Got Pictures: Lots of them. Of women. In, shall we say, “minimalist” attire.
  • It’s Got Videos: Some of them did, anyway. You’d get a coupon inside the magazine.
  • It’s Old: We’re talking decades old. The ones I found were from the 90s, but they’ve been around longer.
  • It’s Hard to Find: Unless you stumble upon a dusty box in your attic, like I did.

So yeah, that’s my little adventure with “High Society.” It was a weird, unexpected trip down memory lane. Makes you wonder what other treasures are hiding up in those attics, right?
