Okay, so yesterday was a wild ride, let me tell you about it! I got to go to the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show, and it was insane, in the best way possible. I’ve always been into fashion, you know, checking out the latest trends and stuff, but actually being there at a real show? Next level!

First off, I figured I couldn’t just waltz in there, right? These things are pretty exclusive. So, I did a bit of digging online. Turns out, getting into one of these shows is like trying to get into the hottest club in town. You gotta know someone, or at least pretend to, haha!
I remembered a friend of a friend who works in PR, so I reached out, fingers crossed. I was like, “Hey, long shot, but any chance you’re involved with the Tommy show?” Turns out, she was! She said she might be able to sneak me onto the guest list. I was stoked!
While I waited for her to work her magic, I also did what anyone else would do – I showed up early and tried to blend in. I put on my most stylish outfit, grabbed a fancy-looking notebook, and acted like I belonged there. I even practiced my “Oh, this old thing?” face in the mirror. It was kinda fun, ngl.
Anyway, my PR friend came through! She texted me saying I was on the list. Score! I felt like a VIP, walking past the velvet ropes, trying not to grin too much.
Once inside, it was a whole other world. The place was buzzing with energy. There were photographers everywhere, people dressed to the nines, and the music was pumping. I found my seat, which was surprisingly close to the runway. I could practically reach out and touch the models!

The show itself was a blur of colors and lights. The clothes were amazing, of course. I was snapping pics like crazy, trying to capture it all. I even saw some famous people – you know, the usual celebs and influencers. It was surreal.
- Getting the invite: Reached out to a PR friend, got on the guest list.
- Plan B: Showed up early, tried to blend in with the crowd.
- The experience: Sat close to the runway, took lots of pictures, saw celebrities.
- Overall vibe: Buzzing, energetic, surreal.
After the show, there was a bit of a mingle session. I didn’t really know anyone, but I chatted with a few people. It was mostly small talk, but hey, I was at a fashion show afterparty! I made a note of some of the people I met, thinking I could maybe try to get in touch later. Networking, right?
Takeaways
This whole experience taught me a few things. First, it never hurts to ask. If I hadn’t reached out to my friend, I wouldn’t have gotten in. Second, sometimes you just gotta fake it till you make it. Blending in totally worked, at least until I got the official invite. And third, fashion shows are just as crazy and cool as they look on TV.
Would I do it again? Absolutely! It was a blast, and I feel like I learned a lot, just from being there and observing everything. Plus, now I have a cool story to tell. Who knows, maybe next time I’ll be sitting in the front row!
