Alright, let’s gab about this fella, John Rich, and that there show, “Apprentice.” You know, the one with that loud-mouthed fella, what’s his name? Trump, yeah, that’s him. Folks was watchin’ it, and John, he was on it.

John Rich, Big and Rich, and Celebrity Apprentice
Now, John, he’s a singer, sings them country songs. Heard him on the radio a time or two. Part of some group, Big somethin’, Big and Rich, that’s it. Anyways, he went on that “Apprentice” show. Don’t rightly know why a singer would wanna be doin’ business stuff, but hey, money’s money, I reckon.
- He was on a team, Backbone they called it.
- Sounded like a bunch of tough guys, winnin’ and grinnin’.
- Kept hearin’ on the TV how they was just beatin’ everybody.
This was back in 2011, I think. Yeah, spring of 2011. They kept showin’ John and his team doin’ this and that, sellin’ stuff, makin’ deals. Honestly, half the time I didn’t understand what they was talkin’ about. All that business mumbo jumbo, you know?
But John, he seemed like a smart fella. Kinda down-to-earth, not like some of them fancy city slickers on that show. He was always talkin’ about workin’ hard and doin’ things right. Reminded me of my old man, always sayin’, “If you gonna do somethin’, do it right.”
John Rich’s Apprentice Victory

So, this John, he just kept winnin’ and winnin’ on that show. They was firin’ people left and right, “You’re fired!” that Trump fella would yell. But not John. He stuck around. Made it all the way to the end, I hear.
And wouldn’t you know it, he won the whole darn thing! Beat some actress lady, Marlee somethin’ or other. Good for him, I say. Showed them city folks that a country boy can do just fine in the business world. He won a whole bunch of money, too. Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, they said. That’s a lot of hay, let me tell you.
Now, I don’t know what he did with all that money. Probably gave some to charity, like they do on them shows. That’s good, I reckon. Helpin’ folks out is always a good thing.
They said on the TV that John thought he won ’cause he was different. Not like them other folks, always arguin’ and carryin’ on. He just kept his head down and worked hard. That’s what I always say, hard work pays off.
The Aftermath of the Celebrity Apprentice for John Rich

After that show, I didn’t hear much about John Rich for a while. Guess he went back to singin’ his songs. Heard him on the radio a few times, but mostly I listen to the gospel station, you know?
But I always remembered him from that “Apprentice” show. It was kinda fun watchin’ him beat all them fancy folks. Showed ’em that country folks ain’t dumb, we just got a different way of doin’ things.
And that Trump fella, well, he went on to be president, can you believe it? Guess bein’ loud and bossy gets you somewhere in this world. But John, he seemed like a good fella, not like some of them politicians.
So, that’s the story of John Rich on “Apprentice,” as best as I can remember it. He was a country singer, he went on a business show, and he won. Simple as that. And he did it by workin’ hard and bein’ himself. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.
I don’t rightly know all the ins and outs of it, but that’s what I remember seein’ on the TV. John Rich, a good ol’ country boy, makin’ somethin’ of himself on that big city show. Good for him, I say. Good for him.

And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, where did I put my glasses? Can’t see a darn thing without ‘em…
