Well, I gotta tell ya, this whole thing about Waraire Boswell, it’s real sad. Heard the fella passed away, just like that. Forty-eight years old, ain’t that somethin’? Too young, way too young. Makes you think, you know? One minute you’re here, next minute, gone like a puff of smoke.
Folks sayin’ he was a big shot clothes maker, a “fashion designer” they call it. Made fancy suits for them basketball fellas, LeBron James and that Kobe fella who also ain’t with us no more. Never met them myself, but I seen ’em on the TV. Big fellas, real big. Guess they needed special clothes, bein’ so tall and all. Waraire, he made them special clothes.
They call them clothes “bespoke”. Don’t know what that means exactly, sounds fancy though. Probably means made just for them, fit ’em like a glove. He started makin’ these clothes way back in 2002, that’s what I heard. Been doin’ it a long time, seems like. Built himself a name, they say. His own brand, somethin’ called “eponymous”. Again with the fancy words! But it means it was his name on them clothes, like his own special mark.
- He was good at what he did, that’s for sure.
- Made them basketball stars look sharp, I reckon.
- Musta been a hard worker, to get where he was.
Now, they ain’t sayin’ exactly what made him pass. Some kinda secret, I guess. Just that he up and died on July 31st, 2024. Real sudden like. They put somethin’ on that “Instagram” thing, that’s what my grandkid told me. He’s always on that phone of his, lookin’ at stuff. Said Waraire’s people put a message out, sayin’ he was gone. Real sad, all them young folks sendin’ their “condolences”. That’s another fancy word, means they feelin’ sorry for his family and friends.
It’s a shame, you know? A man workin’ hard, makin’ a life for himself, and then poof! Gone. Reminds me of my old Bessie, that cow I had. Healthy as a horse one day, and the next, lyin’ down in the field, not movin’. Life’s like that sometimes, unpredictable. You just never know what’s gonna happen.
Folks are talkin’ about his “legacy” now. That’s another big word. Means what he left behind. Well, he left behind them clothes, I guess. And probably a lot of folks who liked him and his work. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? To be remembered for what you did, for the good you put into the world. Even if it was just makin’ clothes, he made folks happy, made ’em feel good in them fancy suits.
So, Waraire Boswell, wherever you are, I hope you’re restin’ easy. You done good, son. You done good. And to his family, I send my best. Losing someone ain’t easy, not ever. But they should be proud of him, proud of what he did. He left his mark on the world, that’s for sure. A mark made with needle and thread, makin’ them big basketball fellas look like kings.
It’s a funny ol’ world, ain’t it? People come and go. But the good ones, they leave a little somethin’ behind. And that somethin’, that’s what keeps ’em alive in our hearts. Waraire, he left behind a whole lot of somethin’. He left behind a legacy, a real one.
