Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Jens Werner. Sounds like a regular name, ain’t it? But this fella, he was somethin’ special. He was a dancer, you know, like them folks you see on TV twirlin’ around.

Jens Werner, the Dancer
Now, I ain’t no expert on dancin’, mind you. I just watch it sometimes when there ain’t nothin’ else on the boob tube. But from what I hear, this Jens fella was real good at it. Started dancin’ when he was just a little tyke, barely out of diapers, they say. Four years old, can you believe it? I reckon he could barely walk straight, let alone dance! But he did, and he kept at it, too. He became a champion, you know, the best of the best. World Amateur Champion, they called it. That’s a big deal, I reckon.
- Started dancing at age 4
- World Amateur Champion in 1994
- Danced for many years
He danced and danced, all over the place, I guess. Made a name for himself. Then he got on this TV show, “Dancing with the Stars” they called it. Or maybe it was “Vild med dans”, sounded foreign to me. Same kinda thing, though, far as I can tell. People dancin’, gettin’ judged, the whole shebang. He wasn’t dancin’ on this show, though. He was a judge, tellin’ other folks if they was good or not. He did that for a long, long time, 20 seasons they say. That’s a lot of dancin’ to watch, let me tell ya.
Jens Werner, the Judge
Now, judgin’ folks ain’t easy. You gotta be fair, but you also gotta be honest. And sometimes the truth hurts, you know? But Jens, he seemed like a good judge. He knew what he was talkin’ about, that’s for sure. He’d been there, done that, as they say. He knew how hard it was to dance, and he knew what it took to be good. So he told it like it was, I reckon. Folks respected him for it, too. He was on that show for 19 or 20 years, somethin’ like that. That’s a long time to be doin’ anything, ‘specially on TV. Musta been good at it.

Jens Werner, the Fighter
But then, somethin’ bad happened. This cancer thing, it got a hold of him. Nasty business, that cancer. It don’t care who you are, rich or poor, famous or not. It just comes and takes over. Jens, he fought it hard, they say. But sometimes, even the strongest folks can’t win. He fought it for a long while, this story says. They found it last year, 2023 they say, and he fought til just now, July 9th. He passed away, not too long ago. Just 59 years old, ain’t that a shame? Too young to go, if you ask me. But that’s life, I guess. It ain’t always fair.
Jens Werner, the Man
I never met this Jens Werner fella, you know. But from what I hear, he was a good man. A hard worker, a talented dancer, and a fair judge. He brought joy to a lot of folks, I reckon. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of. He even wrote a book about his life. Called it “Dancing became my salvation” or somethin’ like that. Sounded like he had quite a life. He will be missed, that’s for sure. They say he passed peaceful with his family around. May he rest in peace, poor fella.
So that’s the story of Jens Werner, as best as I can tell it. A dancer, a judge, a fighter, and a good man. He lived a full life, even though it was cut short. And that’s all any of us can hope for, I reckon.
